The 5 Best Books to Give Someone as Gifts (which I wrote myself)

THE 5 BEST BOOKS TO GIVE SOMEONE AS A GIFT for the HOLIDAYS

What are the best books to give someone as a gift this Christmas holiday? There are so many to choose from that it would not be a big surprise if you experience analysis paralysis trying to pick even one. Obviously, the books you gift to someone will depend on who the someone is. You would not give the same books to the same people. There are books that make great gifts for men. There are books for your girlfriends. There are books for your Trump-loving in-laws and there are books for your mom.

Best book to gift your mom for the Holidays (or her Birthday)

By far, the best book to give your mom for Christmas is La Maison Bleu. Moms can be either very complicated, or very simple to shop for but I think just about all of them would enjoy this book. It is all about my quest to buy a house in Normandy France. I think it is a very funny book. I mean, that scene when I couldn't find a public restroom? The pigeons? The time the agent asked me to produce a bank guarantee? But it is also serious in certain ways because it deals with certain issues like retirement savings and retirement planning. Plus, it is set in Normandy France. What's not to like?

Best book to gift your guy friends (and girlfriends too)

There are two books I think the book guys would enjoy most on my list. The first is fluffy but funny and cute and maybe a little bit...conversation building. That book is the book of poetry called Seduce That, Darling. Guys would like it because it is all about a guy. They could get a bit defensive with some of the poems because it is all about this woman who is seduced, and then gets angry about it in the aftermath. And you know what they say when a woman's passions are unrequited. So they could interpret it that way. To me, it is more hilarious and exactly what these rakes deserve. And they need to know it. So yea, this one is great for them. But women would enjoy it too. Cause it is so funny, and I think relatable.

Best book to gift your Trump Loving and Trump Hating Friends

I think my book What Would Donald Trump Do If... 100 DJT Questions for Your Next Soirée is hilarious. I want to update it in 2022 but the first version is a good, fun gift. It is in paperback and it just takes a light look at the former president that even his most ardent supporters should not find offensive, and his non-supporters could find funny.

I wrote the book in 5 hours on Sunday, October 18, 2015. It is not meant to be a treatise on world peace, obviously. It is meant to be a fun book that you can even use as a party gag. For example, I ask questions like "What Would Donald Trump Do if  a guy fell in love with him and the guy confessed his love publicly." Another one is, "What Would Donald Trump Do if he found out that one of his kids was stealing from him." Another is "What would Donald Trump do if he were a woman and his breasts were sagging?

Best book to gift Oprah Winfrey and her ilk

Oprah seems like the kind of person who gives a lot more gifts than she receives. The book that I think she needs to read this year is They Were Not Slaves The book is available in Kindle and paperback versions and it is a book that someone like Oprah will appreciate for many reasons. It is important that we recognize the rights of these millions of undefended civilians who were unlawfully enslaved by de facto employers acting with the authority of the governments and monarchies. They had rights. They had the right to have rights. They were part of our human family. They are owed an apology and a retrospective reinstatement of their rights. Oprah will agree with this, I am sure. She will appreciate the legal arguments I make on behalf of these millions of individuals in this book.

Best book to gift the sensitive person in your life

The book Bully is a good book to give as a gift because so many kids feel bullied and even adults feel bullied at work and stuff like that. They need to know they are not alone and that there is help for dealing with this. This is the text for the back of that book:

*What can anybody do about bullying and being bullied? It seems everybody has a story about that - whether it is their child being bullied at school or they are being bullied in a relationship at home or at work. Bullying is a global phenomenon. It is not just something that happens in schools to children. It happens in workplaces, institutions of higher learning, places of worship and apartment complexes - everywhere. There is even such a thing as countries bullying other countries and companies bullying consumers. When does it stop? That is the question." I think the more we talk about this problem and shine light on the perpetrators, the quicker it will be resolved.
